Comment on Phlebitis Is A Serious Condition – It Can Cause DVT by Haroun Gajraj http://theveincarecentre.co.uk/blog/phlebitis-is-a-serious-condition-it-can-cause-dvt/#comment-920971 Tue, 22 May 2018 03:06:13 +0000 http://theveincarecentre.co.uk/blog/?p=2873#comment-920971 Dear Miriam

Thank you for your question. There is no clear information in the medical literature on how frequently a scan should be performed for phlebitis. If the symptoms persist, if the phlebitis is extensive or near a deep vein, it would be reasonable to repeat the scan in 2 – 4 weeks. Speak to your GP or request a referral to a vein specialist.

I recently had a duplex scan that showed this, but I still get constant irritation, swelling and in turn, worry ankhs my legs.
Hope you can advise!

Comment on Foam and the NHS – potential for huge savings by Margaret Clarke http://theveincarecentre.co.uk/blog/foam-and-the-nhs-potential-for-huge-savings/#comment-920360 Sun, 13 May 2018 10:12:54 +0000 http://theveincarecentre.co.uk/blog/?p=1701#comment-920360 I have a lump at the back of my knee (which looks angry and is increasingly painful) and other enlarged veins in the calf. It has been diagnosed at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings as a category 2 varicose vein (leaky valve) and not sufficiently serious, min their opinion, to be eligible for the recommended foam sclerotherapy treatment on the NHS(at least not in this area). I can’t afford to get it done privately so is there any other way round it so that I can get it done on the NHS? Thank you,
Regards
Margaret Clarke.
